New successful case and testimonial for a UK Spouse visa, entry clearance from India, for a husband of a British citizen.

Dear Joanne, today we picked up the package from the courier center in Bangalore and – good news!! Somesh got his visa! Whoopee! Thank you so very much for all your help – we could never have done it without you!”

This came from Jasmine, a British citizen who asked us for help to secure a Spouse visa for her husband, Somesh, in India. In this case we used Jasmine’s income from self-employment in the UK.  Since Jasmine was a sole trader (self-employed without a company), we had to calculate her income based on the latest available tax year. A tax year had to be a UK tax year, 6 April 2014 to 5 April 2015 as per the rules for self-employed sponsors who trade as a sole trader (but not for the company owner, where the calculation would have been very different). We used a latest tax return (amongst many other documents) and a HMRC Tax Calculation which showed income from self-employment being minimum £18,600.

The next step will be to renew a visa after 2.5 years and then to apply for permanent residency after 5 years. Both steps can be done using same-day service, such as the one we use in Croydon.
