👽 Tower 42: Christmas, visas and aliens - 1st 4Immigration

As it is almost Christmas, we wanted to write something cheerful - and funny! To help with the festive mood, especially if you are working very hard, trying to get all your work done on time for the Christmas break.


This post was inspired by a photograph that Natalia took outside our office building, Tower 42, on 18th December 2019. The building looked great with the Christmas tree at the top! Then we spotted a 'UFO' hanging over in the sky, keeping its eyes on us! This picture, taken on a whim, was beginning to resemble 'aliens' (that's American legal term for immigrants) looking for a visa. They were certainly at the right place! 😁

 We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and look forward to more cases and more visas in 2020!

💸 10 common mistakes when meeting the Financial Requirement £18,600 for a UK Spouse visa

#1 Most common - submitting “everything I have’.  Some payslips, a tax return, some savings plus a property deed for good measure. Surely, should work? It may sound logical to provide as much as possible, this is often a nightmare scenario for immigration lawyers and often a direct path to a visa refusal. Financial Requirement is strictly based on the ‘rules’: what income can be used, how various sources can be combined and what documents are needed.     How are they different? What are advantages of each of them? Our helpful table below gives you the visa options for partners of UK citizens. Spouse visa (including civil partners) Fiancée visa Marital status Have to be married (or get married) and apply for a UK visa as a Spouse.
