We received some exciting news from the French visa centre - French Schengen visa applications are back! France has just lifted all restrictions on travel between the UK and France, meaning you can travel to France for any reason, including a good old holiday! We need to act very fast to secure your appointment now, to apply later and to travel in the next 6 months. The visa slots (appointments) are very limited while the interest in travel is at all times’ high. Once the ‘floodgates’ are open, the slots will go fast! 

We can submit your application as early as 6 months before your travel date. If you are planning to travel in the next 6 months - and that covers the whole summer 2021 - please get in touch NOW while visa appointments are getting booked fast! 

The following Requirements apply at the moment, which may change later, or may not:
1. The minimum stay in France  on your travel itinerary has to be 7 days because you will be required to self-isolate during that time. 
2. You will need a negative PCR test of less than 72 hours before departure.

How long can a visitor stay in the UK? 6 months from each entry? In a year? In a calendar year?

Visitors can come to the UK for purposes of tourism, visiting friends, business visits and similar. Visitors can stay for maximum 6 months in each 12 months . Not 6 months from each entry to the UK. Even if your visitor visa is for 5 or 10 years you can still stay for maximum 180 days in each of those years. How to count ‘6 months in 12 months’? A 12 months period starts from ‘now’, date in question or date of entry etc and you need to count backwards (not a calendar year). If you stayed in the UK for the whole 6 months then you have to stay away for the whole 6 months. If you come and go several times during a year then the total must be 180 days cumulatively in the last 12 months. Visitor rules are the same for all. Visitor visa rules aren’t.
