🎓 Return of UK Post-Study Visa

Image
Since we entered 2020, this is one of the most common questions: Return of post-study work visa. This visa category was very popular until its closure in 2012. There are now plans to revive it for foreign students (EU and non-EU) who begin a degree course during 2020/21 intake at UK universities (but not to those who are already studying here now). There are no further details yet, but if it is based on the past, graduates would be able to stay in the UK for 2 years with the right to work. It won’t lead to Settlement but 2 years could be enough to find sponsorship for a work visa. Or to set up a business. Or qualify as a parter of a UK citizen under Unmarried Partner category that requires 2 years of living together. 🤔 What’s next after Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) visa?

Image
Although this visa category is now closed (replaced with a Start-up visa), there are still many migrants in the UK on this visa. This category doesn't lead to settlement, and doesn't count with other visas towards settlement when counting 5 years of residence. So, what are the option to extend your stay in the UK?  -  Switch to Tier 2 General  if you have a sponsor (employer). There is a special exemption from advertising a job to settled workers. If an employer wants to sponsor a Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) migrant, they don’t need to conduct Resident Labour Market Test.   Read more on our  website here.   -  Switch to Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa  if you wish to start, join or continue with a business in the UK. You only need £50,000 in funds instead of the standard £200,000. Although Tier 1 Entrepreneur was closed to new applicants on 29 March 2019, if you have a Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur visa now (or had in the last 12 months), you can still switch for

👽 Tower 42: Christmas, visas and aliens - 1st 4Immigration

Image
As it is almost Christmas, we wanted to write something cheerful - and funny! To help with the festive mood, especially if you are working very hard, trying to get all your work done on time for the Christmas break. This post was inspired by a photograph that Natalia took outside our office building, Tower 42, on 18th December 2019. The building looked great with the Christmas tree at the top! Then we spotted a 'UFO' hanging over in the sky, keeping its eyes on us! This picture, taken on a whim, was beginning to resemble 'aliens' (that's American legal term for immigrants) looking for a visa. They were certainly at the right place! 😁 We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and look forward to more cases and more visas in 2020!   1st 4 Immigration and Multi T ravel Visas
